For Megan, MoonGroove represents a profound convergence of her two most cherished communities: music festivals and naturism. Her introduction to MoonGroove came through its founder, Eli Porr, whose excitement and effervescent energy ignited her belief in his vision. Having attended music festivals for over two decades and discovering the naturist community five years ago, MoonGroove's inception as a "perfect union" of these two worlds made her 1000% in from the first moment.
Moments of Connection and Celebration
Choosing a single favorite memory from four years of magical memories and uncountable meaningful moments is impossible for Megan. She fondly recalls a 10-minute hug at the close of one festival, an embrace that felt like a lifetime in the safe embrace of someone that really saw me and loved me for all my cracks and scars. This profound moment was made possible by MoonGroove's safe and inclusive environment.
Another vivid memory is witnessing a pure and simple wedding ceremony at the rainbow bridge, where a couple declared their love in their most natural state. The heartfelt vows, joyous expressions, and palpable love of the couple, amidst the music and gaiety, brought tears to Megan's eyes.
"It says a lot about MoonGroove and the community involved," she reflects, "that two people would choose to have such an important event in their lives during the festival."
Anticipating Connection and Service
Megan anticipates MoonGroove 2025 will be a soul nourishing and spirit lifting experience. This year, she's particularly looking forward to working on the Volunteer Operations Team, aiming to ensure the best possible experience for new and seasoned MoonGroove attendees alike. She's excited to connect with new and old friends while serving our community.
The Liberating Power of Nudism
The clothing-optional aspect is what truly distinguishes MoonGroove for Megan. She sees it as the key to next level unique self-expression, particularly enjoying crafting theme-wear without the worry of having to coverup. Discovering nudism in 2020 led her to a degree of self-love she never knew was possible. She describes how shedding clothes silences the internal critic, allowing for a profound sense of safety and calm. There is nothing that compares to the feeling of dancing your heart out, completely bare and natural, surrounded by beautiful humans and amazing music. Wearing nothing but a smile while your heart is bursting with joy is an experience that everyone deserves.

Practical and Empathetic Advice for First-Timers
For first-time attendees nervous about nudity, Megan offers advice that she promises is meant with love. Her core message is to take a deep breath and remember, the only person who is concerned about your naked body, is you. She emphasizes that, all bodies are beautiful. You are perfect exactly as you are." Practically, she suggests bringing all your favorite sarongs, pashminas, and pareos, highlighting their versatility as a nudists best friend for comfort, sun cover, warmth, or a temporary covering. Megan also encourages asking questions. If you are curious about anything to do with the nudism aspect of MoonGroove, or the community in general, find a naked person and ask them! She assures newcomers that there are no stupid questions, and members of our community are happy to share our knowledge, experience, and opinions.
Embracing Music and Artistic Exploration
While it's impossible to pick a favorite genre due to the diverse artists, Megan's heart gravitates towards all things Funk. She finds funk music inspires her to dance, which is her favorite form of self-expression. Megan has actively participated in MoonGroove's workshops, finding grounding in a group meditation and invigoration from sound healing and group yoga. She particularly enjoys the community art pieces, watching them evolve and come to life as more and more people leave a unique addition to add to the beauty. These pieces, she believes, exemplify the concept that we are greater than the sum of our parts.
The Most Meaningful Connection: Self
In a powerful reflection, Megan states that her most meaningful connection at MoonGroove has been with herself. The openness and vulnerable sharing within the community have helped her to embrace the parts of herself that she has been terrified to even look at. She describes how the safety and security of the MoonGroove community allows her nervous system to relax...to a point where her true self can come forward.
A Unique Family and Safe Haven
What sets MoonGroove apart, Megan explains, is that "we are a family. A community. A tribe." It began as a way for a small group of friends to share talents and expand their chosen family. Unlike other festivals, MoonGroove isn't driven by ticket sales, but by opening our arms and our hearts to new people who carry the same values. The community holds high standards for its members when it comes to respect, safety, consent, inclusivity, and acceptance, priding itself on being a safe space where every single attendee can be free to exist in their most natural state without fear of judgement or prejudice.
"MoonGroove is a place to find yourself, find new friends, find peace, and find your groove."
